October, 2003 (The Black Hills, South Dakota) -- Bighorn Sheep ewes are great. They hang out with their lady friends and the lambs in peaceful herds, doing the safety in numbers thing, for most of the year. But then again, when the cold weather rolls in, it's time to see what the boys are up to. Who, coincidentally enough, tend to drop by for autumnal visits and what-have-you.

Techie Notes: Photographing the female Bighorn is a more relaxed situation, as the girls generally don't mind a little company, so a medium zoom is adequate for most circumstances. In fact, it's not un-ewe-sual (where's Tom Jones when you need him?) for the females to get a smidge curious and walk right up to you. Ladies?
